ICRA assigns provisional AAA rating, stable outlook to Nexus Select Trust

Ratings agency ICRA has assigned a provisional AAA rating with a stable outlook to India’s maiden retail Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Nexus Select Trust floated by an affiliate of US-based private equity major Blackstone Group. This retail REIT will have an initial portfolio of 17 retail malls, 3 office spaces, 2 hotels and 1 solar power generation plant across the country.

RLDA to lease out railway land in Kerala's Kannur for commercial development

The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory authority under the Indian Railways, has decided to lease out close to five acres of railway land in this northern Kerala district for commercial development. The authority has invited bids for leasing 4.93 acres of railway land near the Kannur railway station for 45 years. The reserve price for the land parcel is Rs 22.6 crore.

Heidelberg Cement India net profit falls 88% in July-September 2022

Heidelberg Cement India Ltd reported a decline of 88.23 per cent in its net profit to Rs 7.01 crore in the second quarter ended September 30, 2022, citing lower sales volume. The company had reported a net profit of Rs 59.56 crore in the year-ago period. Its total revenue from operation was down 12.21 per cent to Rs 506.05 crore during the quarter.

A mansion built on Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah island has become the most expensive home to be sold in the Persian Gulf emirate, the latest real-estate record as the city’s luxury property sales surge. The villa, called Casa Del Sole, fetched $82.4 million when it was sold in July.

ED attaches over Rs 1,300 crore worth assets in money laundering case against IREO, promoters

The Enforcement Directorate has attached assets worth more than Rs 1,317 crore of real estate group IREO, its managing director and vice president Lalit Goyal and associated entities as part of a money laundering investigation. The attached properties include land, commercial spaces, plots, residential houses and bank accounts.

CBI files charge sheet against DHFL's ex-CMD Kapil Wadhawan, 74 others

The CBI filed a charge sheet against former Dewan Housing Finance Ltd (DHFL) CMD Kapil Wadhawan and 74 others in connection with a Rs 34,615 crore bank fraud case. In its charge sheet filed before a Special CBI court here, the agency has also named then director Dheeraj Wadhawan and former CEO Harshil Mehta as accused in the mega-scam case.

Goa: Bungalow of builder sealed over loan default

Bardez mamlatdar Dasharath Gawas has attached the ground plus two bungalow of builder Venkatesh Prabhu Moni, proprietor of Prabhu Constructions at Salvador do Mundo. Possession was handed over to Canara Bank to whom he has defaulted on loan repayment.An order directing Moni to vacate the bungalow measuring 7,681sqm, and to hand over possession within 48 hours.

Aviom India Housing Finance to raise $30 million via share sales

Aviom India Housing Finance, a New Delhi-based lender focused on financing small dwelling units, is in the process of raising $30 million through share sales. Japan’s Gojo-backed Aviom, with Rs 990 crore in loan assets, is in talks with a global pension fund and a domestic private equity fund for fresh capital infusion.

Bank of Maharashtra slashes home loan rate to 8%

State-owned Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) announced a cut in interest rate on home loans to 8 per cent from 8.3 per cent as part of its festive offer. The rate varies depending on the borrower's credit score. The Pune-based lender has also slashed interest rate on personal loans to 8.9 per cent from the existing 11.35 per cent.

Maharashtra: E-registration from builder's office gets push, citizens to get papers within 24 hours

The state property registration department, as part of efforts to increase e-registration of new properties from developers' offices and ease rush at registration counters, is planning to ensure buyers get their registered documents by email will now be brought down from the earlier 48 hours to 24 hours, or the next day.
