IDBI Bank, the lead lender to Jaypee Infratech, is all set to seek bids via a Swiss challenge auction for the distressed borrower's ₹22,600-crore debt. Potential bidders will have to compete with the National Asset Reconstruction Co's (NARCL) ₹3,570-crore offer - the biggest to date by the government-backed bad bank.

Developers have made a demand to the state government to provide a partial waiver in stamp duty payment to boost sales of real estate in Maharashtra. The proposal was mooted on October 3 to Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. Many developer bodies across the state besides Naredco have been demanding this reduction since last year.

After denying it five years ago, the state cabinet has now approved cost escalation of Rs 600 crore for phase-I of Nagpur Metro Rail Project. The state cabinet approved increase in project cost from Rs8,680 crore to Rs9,279.6 crore citing increase in expenditure of land acquisition, construction of two additional stations (Airport South and Cotton Market) etc.

Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit-Nene has purchased a sea-view luxury apartment in a super-premium residential project Indiabulls Blu on Dr. E Moses Road in in Mumbai’s upscale Worli locality for Rs 48 crore. The deals value the apartment at nearly Rs 90,000 per sq ft. The apartment on the 53rd habitable floor of tower C is spread over 5,384 sq ft.

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will earn Rs 2,067 crore with a Japanese firm Goisu Realty Pvt Ltd bagging the tender for leasing two land parcels at Bandra-Kurla Complex for the next 80 years. The bid for the two commercial plots, measuring 5,807.50 sq m and 6,077.60 sq m, was finalized at a little more than the reserved price stipulated by the development authority.

Developer Rustomjee Group will achieve a first close of Rs 450 crore for its alternative investment fund by November to fund redevelopment projects in the city. First of the investments to be done by the AIF christened 'Mt K Kapital' will be in realty projects undertaken by the group itself, Rustomjee's chairman and managing director Boman Irani told PTI.

Over 40 residential structures will be removed to pave way for a sewage treatment plant (STP) planned at Devnagar area. Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has issued notices in the name of the occupants with instructions to vacate the structures within a week or so.

The municipal corporation (MC) has collected Rs 22.1 crore property tax from April 1 till September 30, crossing its target of Rs 22 crore set in its budget for the 2022-23 fiscal year. “It is a record achievement. From April 1 to September 30, 2021, the collection was only Rs 14.25 crore,” said MC commissioner Navjot Kaur.

Australia's 'Big Four' lenders - Commonwealth Bank of Australia, National Australia Bank , Westpac Banking Corp and Australia and New Zealand Banking Group - will raise home loan rates by 0.25% per annum. The move is in sync with the country's central bank, which earlier in the day raised its benchmark lending rate by 25 basis points.
