Air India has decided to vacate its offices in government-owned properties, and will house them jointly with other Tata group airlines, including Vistara, in a modern campus in the national capital region by March next year. Airline staff in this office as also the ones in Delhi's Safdarjung Complex, GSD Complex and IGI Terminal One will be temporarily located in an office space in Gurugram beginning this month and will move to a newly-built Vatika complex in early 2023.

Bank of Baroda and Indian Overseas Bank have raised their MCLR rates by up to 0.10 per cent, which will make most loans costlier for the customers. The benchmark 1-year tenor marginal cost of funds based lending rate (MCLR) has been revised to 7.75 per cent against the existing rate of 7.65 per cent.

South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha, reacting to the recent Curchorem murder case linked to illegal sand extraction, said that the government should take immediate steps to regularise sand mining by earmarking sand extraction sites. He demanded that the sand extraction by traditional methods be permitted with restrictions such as not being carried out in the vicinity of bunds or bridges.

A 41-year-old director of a real estate company was arrested for allegedly duping more than 150 people to the tune of Rs 30 crore by inducing them to invest in his commercial project. Accused Deep Kanwar Singh Walia, resident of Chandigarh, was nabbed by the Economic Offences Wing in connection with a 2018 case of cheating registered against him.

The Orissa high court has directed the state government to constitute an expert body to calculate the cost of 870 trees felled to build multi-storeyed residential quarters for legislators in Bhubaneswar. The order came on a PIL filed by Cuttack-based social activist Jayanti Das against the cutting of trees for the Rs 549. 41-crore MLA Colony project in the capital.

The property tax concession scheme of the Kolhapur Municipal Corporation (KMC) has proved to a success as around 68,000 people have availed of the benefit, civic body has managed to collect around Rs 37 crore towards property tax — highest ever in the first six months of a financial year. The city has around 1.51 registered properties with the KMC.

In CHANDIGARH the biggest property tax defaulters are Not residential or commercial but government departments, higher educational institutions and wings of the UT administration in the city. As many as 100 establishments owe Rs 84.55 crore to the municipal corporation (MC). Punjab and Haryana government buildings have to pay Rs 48.60 crore, institutional buildings Rs 26.65 crore and the engineering department of the UT administration Rs 9.29 crore.

Bangaluru City Corporation modified and make the new version of e-aasthi, with that citizens will get e-khata within seven to 10 days of submitting applications. Since e-aasthi was launched in the year 2020, the MCC has issued 23,000 e-khatas. However, it will take anything between 30 days to three months or even more to process the applications.
