Homebuyers of Vipul World, a residential society on Sohna Road, have submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner for the chief minister allegeding that they have been denied electricity connections for the past 15 months. More than 500 people who bought builder floors in the society are unable to move into their new houses in the absence of a power connection. DHBVN has stopped issuing fresh electricity connections due to inadequate infrastructure. The developer is supposed to submit a bank guarantee of Rs 15 crores and hand over 500 square yards of land for a 33kV substation, after which the discom will issue new connections.

Chhattisgarh high court has stayed the allotment of plots, which are already allotted to the farmers under the rehabilitation scheme in Naya Raipur, to others while hearing a petition filed against the Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and the state government. The bench of justice Arvind Singh Chandel directed the NRDA that the plot allotted to the petitioners may not be allotted to any other person till the next date of hearing. The judge granted four weeks’ time to the respondents to submit their reply.

The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) conducted a computerised lottery for the allocation of plots in the two MIG layouts being developed in Vizianagaram district here at the Vizianagaram collectorate. VMRDA chairperson A Vijaya Nirmala said that chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the programme to provide housing sites to the middle-income groups at affordable prices.

The Delhi Development Authority approved allotment of EWS flats constructed at Jailorwala Bagh and Ashok Vihar under an in situ slum rehabilitation project, a move that will benefit more than 1,640 households. There are about 1,640 households. Eligible households will be allotted these EWS flats through draw of lots.

Residents of Gulistan, an illegal ground-plus-nine-storey apartment building on Ismail Curtay Road in Pydhonie, continued to oppose its demolition and refused to vacate the building days after BMC began the razing process. With the Supreme Court clearing demolition, civic officials said police will have to forcibly evict the residents. The issue was raised in the assembly, and ward officials were suspended. The residents who stand to lose their homes have exhausted their legal battle too.

The Delhi Development Authority approved a proposal to allot 18 Commonwealth Games (CWG) flats to the Ministry of External Affairs and also fixed its disposal cost. At present, only 19 flats remain unsold at CWG. The price for disposal has been worked out as Rs 3,28,400 per sqm for the year 2022-2023. Besides, there are parking and freehold charges. DDA has offered five per cent discount on the aforesaid cost of flat and cost of parking.

Members of around 1,700 families that had booked flats in the free sale component of three buildings of the controversial Patra Chawl redevelopment project in Goregaon but have not got their possession though the buildings are almost complete staged a protest outside Mhada's Bandra office. The Mhada-owned 46-acre property has been in the eye of the storm for the past four years after the original builder, Guruashish Construction, a subsidiary of HDIL, was unable to complete the rehabilitation project.

The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority (GNIDA) conducted an anti-encroachment drive in Gaur City Galaxy North Avenue 2 and removed all illegally constructed portions of a flat on the ground floor of Tower B. The move came after some residents made a complaint to the CEO of GNIDA Surendra Singh in a Jansunwai.

Taller buildings could soon come up near water bodies and acquifer recharge areas in the Chennai Metropolitan Area. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) has formed a committee to undertake a scientific study of such areas, with a plan to change the rules and increase the floor space index (FSI). Currently, construction is permitted only 15 metres from water bodies and acquifer recharge areas, with a maximum FSI of 0.8.
