Registration of properties in Mumbai rose 11 per cent last month to 8,628 units - Highest in the past 10 years for September - despite rise in prices as well as mortgage rates. Mumbai city (BMC area) saw property sale registrations of 8,628 units in September 2022 as against 7,804 units in the same month last year and 8,552 units in the previous month.

Mortgage lender HDFC Ltd hiked its lending rate by 50 basis points hours after the Reserve Bank raised the benchmark interest rate to tame inflation. The move would increase EMIs for housing loans by the firm. This is the seventh rate increase undertaken by HDFC in the last five months.

The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has issued notices to ATS Group and Supertech to deposit Rs 332.6 crore in two weeks so that farmers can be paid additional compensation. Apart from ATS and Supertech, YEIDA has issued notices to 13 other allottees under the institutional category to clear Rs 2,377.2 crore in dues.
