The Visakhapatnam Metropolitan Region Development Authority (VMRDA) conducted a computerised lottery for the allocation of plots in the two MIG layouts being developed in Vizianagaram district here at the Vizianagaram collectorate. VMRDA chairperson A Vijaya Nirmala said that chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the programme to provide housing sites to the middle-income groups at affordable prices.

Chhattisgarh high court has stayed the allotment of plots, which are already allotted to the farmers under the rehabilitation scheme in Naya Raipur, to others while hearing a petition filed against the Naya Raipur Development Authority (NRDA) and the state government. The bench of justice Arvind Singh Chandel directed the NRDA that the plot allotted to the petitioners may not be allotted to any other person till the next date of hearing. The judge granted four weeks’ time to the respondents to submit their reply.

Homebuyers of Vipul World, a residential society on Sohna Road, have submitted a memorandum to the deputy commissioner for the chief minister allegeding that they have been denied electricity connections for the past 15 months. More than 500 people who bought builder floors in the society are unable to move into their new houses in the absence of a power connection. DHBVN has stopped issuing fresh electricity connections due to inadequate infrastructure. The developer is supposed to submit a bank guarantee of Rs 15 crores and hand over 500 square yards of land for a 33kV substation, after which the discom will issue new connections.

All the proposed metro rail stations being built under Corridor I (Danapur to to Khemnichak) and Corridor II (Patna Junction to Patliputra Bus Terminal) will be green buildings with provisions to conserve energy and rainwater, and enable a sustainable environment. DMRC the nodal agency for the Patna metro rail project, is taking measures to curb air pollution during the construction works across the city and design the stations as eco-friendly structures by following green norms in order to utilize natural resources and local products more effectively.

The Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has threatened to get the project licences of 25 housing societies in new sectors along the Dwarka Expressway cancelled if their developers fail to get a regular connection in the next two weeks. In the absence of a proper connection due to incomplete electrical infrastructure, these societies are heavily dependent on diesel generators.

BENGALURU: The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) halted its anti-encroachment drive at Bagmane Tech Park, following a Karnataka Lokayukta order to follow due legal procedures before demolishing properties the Palike says are illegally located on storm water drains (SWDs). The directive follows a complaint by Bagmane Developers Pvt Ltd. BBMP had earlier marked encroachments at the Bagmane Tech Park for demolition.

The Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) of Delhi has ordered the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) to register all their ongoing e-auction schemes where plots, flats or shops remain for auction by May 1, 2017. Delhi RERA has said since about 150 of the 1,000 plots were left for auction by May 1, 2017, DDA is bound to register this scheme and any other scheme where it sells real estate assets after this timeline.

The Bombay high court will consider passing a direction that the entire record of every construction project is made available on the citizens' portal of the BMC website. The court said it "will need to revisit the law on several aspects once and for all & Every scrap of paper, every single document will be uploaded". It listed issues they propose to address, including whether illegality in construction can be regularised.

GREATER NOIDA: The Yamuna Authority plans to launch the plot scheme for mixed-use of 1,045 hectares of land under its jurisdiction according to the Master Plan 2041. Land marked for mixed-use purposes have plots for residential, institutional, industrial, commercial and recreational purposes – all within the specified area.

HYDERABAD: Probably for the first time, funds-starved Telangana government is planning to mop up revenue by regularising land in an industrial area. If the plan takes off, state coffers will be replenished with Rs 2,000 crore, while benefiting allottees and industrialists who lobbied with the government to convert the land into freehold for multipurpose use. Official sources said, the move would also stop unauthorized use of leased industrial land.
