The Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory authority under the Indian Railways, has decided to lease out close to five acres of railway land in this northern Kerala district for commercial development. The authority has invited bids for leasing 4.93 acres of railway land near the Kannur railway station for 45 years. The reserve price for the land parcel is Rs 22.6 crore.

Ratings agency ICRA has assigned a provisional AAA rating with a stable outlook to India’s maiden retail Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) Nexus Select Trust floated by an affiliate of US-based private equity major Blackstone Group. This retail REIT will have an initial portfolio of 17 retail malls, 3 office spaces, 2 hotels and 1 solar power generation plant across the country.

The project coming up in Guduvanchery has a development potential of 1.3 million sq ft. This is puravankara’s second plotted development project in Chennai.

Bombay high court allowed the city's largest private landlords, Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Co Ltd, to challenge a Rs 264-crore compensation awarded for a 10-hectare plot, which is being taken over for the bullet train project. The company sought interim orders to restrain the state from taking any steps for implementing the acquisition award.

The Dehradun Municipal Corporation (DMC) is receiving over 100 complaints daily, through various portals and helpline numbers, over malfunctioning streetlights. The DMC claims of the 97,949 streetlights in 100 wards of Dehradun, less than 500 are currently defunct. Bhupender Kathait, councilor, Hathibarkala, said this couldn't be true, as "in every ward, at least 10 to 12 lights are defunct".

With mega projects on the way, the UP government has increased the investment target for the Yamuna Expressway authority more than eight times, from Rs 7,000 crore last year to Rs 60,000 crore for the Global Investor Summit due next year. State-owned Bank of Maharashtra (BoM) announced a cut in interest rate on home loans to 8 per cent from 8.3 per cent as part of its festive offer. The rate varies depending on the borrower's credit score. The Pune-based lender has also slashed interest rate on personal loans to 8.9 per cent from the existing 11.35 per cent.
